Oli began on the piano in 2019, learning how to read music, and in 2021 he began on clarinet to learn the ropes of playing within an ensemble. A year later, Oli was brought on to play the flute in concert band, and this is where his deep affinity for music and the arts took off. He continued to play the clarinet in jazz band for one year before switching to the baritone saxophone over the summer, and returning to the jazz band as the sole bari sax player. Now on flute and baritone sax, he entered the Shadle Park wind and jazz ensemble as a freshman. Now in his sophomore year, he’s picked up the piccolo for the Lilac Parade and intends to continue in music through high school, and beyond. He’s currently auditioning for the role of Drum Major at Shadle Park and works as the instrumental program’s videographer, serving the program any way he can. He pursues music and performance in every aspect of his life and devotes his time improving on his flute to deliver a soulful performance every time.
